Who are we?

“Clubhouse Amit” (a registered non-profit organization) was set up to improve the quality of life of people dealing with the consequences of a severe mental health crisis, and to facilitate their integration into general society in all areas of life.

This is done using the development and implementation of the Clubhouse Model in Israel. This advanced international model is based on the philosophy of the consumer movement – “nothing about us without us”. The Clubhouse is a rehabilitation community: occupational and social, that is supervised and funded by the Ministry of Health, for people dealing with mental health disability. Clubhouse centers in Israel are part of the Clubhouse International movement, which includes 330 Clubhouse centers across the world and is run by the Clubhouse International organization. Clubhouse Amit runs this unique model, with the support and backing of the Ministry of Health and the National Insurance Institute’s Fund for Special Activities, in three locations in Israel: Nazareth Illit, Tiberias and Jerusalem.

The organization’s activities have been run in coordination with many partners and backers over the years, including:

Ministry of Health, National Insurance Institute’s Fund for Special Activities, National Insurance Institute’s Fund for Development of Services for People with Disabilities, The Weinberg Foundation (USA), The Ted Arison Family Foundation, Yad Hanadiv, Joseph and Christina Kasierer Foundation, The Sobell Foundation, The Ryan Foundation, The Wolfson Foundation, Estates Committee, Check Point, and more…
