The culinary area -

A day of work begins with a morning meeting, where one member and one staff member volunteer to cook a main course out of the daily menu. Once a week there's a meeting which aims to examine the unit systematically and to further improve it. Once a month there's a meeting for the purpose of constructing a monthly menu.

The unit's members take care of serving a daily hot and nourishing meal. This includes cooking, setting the tables and serving the food. The meals' cost is subsidized by the Clubhouse and the members pay a symbolic price of 5 ₪ per meal (A price which was decided among the unit members).

The unit's members are also in charge of the cafeteria management, monthly menu creation, ordering groceries from vendors, purchasing groceries, management of the food warehouse and stock.

In addition, the unit prepares meals and refreshments on holidays, ceremonies, events, open door days, important meetings, birthdays and such. The unit engages in making the kitchen, warehouse and cafeteria accessible to everyone, in order to enable the members the freedom and possibility to diversify or surprise the others when they want to.

The work in the culinary unit is done 'at eye level', meaning the Clubhouse members and staff members work together as a team with no hierarchy. Creativity is always encouraged and sitting together around the table creates opportunity for human interaction. The unit's atmosphere is good and delightful, and the members learn how to manage with order and organization, how to cook and bake and also how to prepare meals by themselves at their own homes.
